Oh my goodness, your book is amazing! So well-written. I love it. It should be in all bookshops!
After a drive from Des Moines that took less than an hour, we (me, my sister, and my mother) arrived. In Pella, that is. Such a beautiful town: clean, well-maintained, and with so many amazing shops and restaurants! If you haven’t been, you should.
We parked by The Curiosity Shop to find they were prepared. My books were in the front window, but there was also another sign in the window, as well as a book table set up at the front. Trouble is–I’d been told that they would purchase the books and there were very few.
A brief conversation with the manager, Tori, cleared up the mystery. “Oh my goodness, your book is amazing! So well-written. I love it. It should be in all bookshops!”
I looked at the table they’d set out. “Do you have more than this?”
Tori grimaced. “There are a couple in the window. Honestly, we ordered them, and they sold out. We ordered more, and this is all that is left.”
That was music to this author’s ears! With a smile, I told her had more books with us and we left for lunch. But first, Jaarsma Bakery. Oh my! I put on 20 lbs just by looking!
After lunch, where a few friends joined us, we returned to the Curiosity Shop and set up the signing station. We were ready for any and all customers that came through the door. More than half of them bought a book and all took away information about both Brave Face and Unforgivable. So, as they say in all the best fairy tales, we lived happily ever after.
Her words were music to my ears, just like Jarrsma Bakery was music to my taste buds.
